I can thoroughly recommend Emperor Divers. They do day diving out of Marsa Alam and Liveaboards out of Hurghada. The reefs and wrecks itinerary goes to the Thistlegorm - think a couple of other routes do too. I've dived with them 4 or 5 times, both from shore and on liveaboards in Egypt and Maldives. The staff are excellent and the boats are great.

There are great liveaboards from Hurghada, but you have to check the weather this time of year. Elphinstone is easyly accessible from Marsa Alam. I really enjoyed staying at the Tondoba eco village.
