Sharper play and the right build are simply far more important than ilvl in this game. To illustrate the point, here's a video where I solo an HoT champion in level 60-65 blue/green gear on my weaver. At about 50%, another player enters, presumably geared in 80 exotic (or better) as most players in HoT are.
In Guild Wars 2, the last elite specialization the Engineer has is the Mechanist. The Mechanist really emphasizes the versatility of the Engineer. It has a Power build, a Condi build, a Healer build, and even a Power Alacrity Support build. All made possible by their new profession mechanic, the Jade Mech.
Posted February 24, 2020. Leveling guide: just do the map completion, press M and look for every missing PoI, heart, vista etc listed in the top left corner of the map. If you get bored, do literally anything else you want, because almost everything in the game gives you xp. 1.
Of the new specs in PvP the ones "worthy" of being meta at the moment are Specter and Mechanist; this later is really powerfull in PvE also but being its performance so linked to the jade golem can make risky to main it: moans in PvP can end ruining the class in other game modes

Debating whether one profession is better than another is like trying to compare druid to power dragonhunter. Every single profession has their own role in PvE, some are better at power damage, some are better at condition damage and others are healers/boon appliers. I used the tier 3.8k. Posted March 11, 2021. 1) Great professions for WvW, shine from small group to large fights, hardly ever nerfed -best investment for your time and effort : Guardian -Necro -Engineer. 2) Good professions for WvW, do great in small fight and large fight , slap on the wrist sort of balance, good investment overall : Revenant - Warrior.

Well, they are the most original race of GW2, I'd say its normal that they attract as many players. And yeah, I notice sylvari a lot more when I'm looking at players fashion game, otherwise I think it's a human character: if the skin isn't showing, a tall sylvari looks just like a medium or small human. Edit: Sylvari are the same size as humans.

One of the most common questions new players ask for help picking out a class to play. Below I've summarized the selling points of all the classes, as well as detailing their Elite Specializations which are class variants you can unlock in each of the game's expansions.
New Player starting Revenant. Hello guys,I want to "main" a revenant. I've read through the forums and I know some people aren't fan of the "choosing just one class", but I have limited time to spend on the game and want to experience it with one class as best as possible, since honestly, the game seems really vast. Now before
One of the reasons I've been playing Guild Wars 2 for so many years (I started with Guild Wars 1 Prophecies) is the friendly community always ready to help. That's why I want to share some useful sites for all players, especially new ones.

Honestly, If you haven't played before, play your first character through without boosting. Leveling to 80 isn't super difficult, and you get map progression and hero points. Most importantly, you learn how to play your character. Do your personal story, explore the world, do events. GW2 is a slow burn meant to be enjoyed.

Posted August 19, 2022. I can speak to this as a new player. I started GW2 on July 11 but really got into it around the 16th or 17th of July. I hit level 80 on August 11 playing solo mostly. I hesitate to advise on a profession but would suggest some type of pet class for the first bit as pets take some heat off you.
15 votes, 56 comments. true. thief crossed my mind but condi daredevil and condi specter are both really strong builds any easy to build with dd having great sustain because you are in evade so often and specter providing useful group support for free through barrier. power daredevil is in a bad spot yea but it happens to excel in the 2 fights where mag bombs exist. deadeye indeed might be
Ranger is probably the most well-rounded "generalist" class for new players. Aside from pet, Ranger doesn't really have any gimmicks. It's probably even more straightforward than even Warrior. You have skills, and they have cooldowns. That's it. Where Ranger excels in endgame content is its incredible utility. Guild Wars 2: Secrets of the Obscure "Through the Veil" is here! Join the hunt! Really, most classes can provide decent support for Raids. Though the primary ones are Druid (For healing), Firebrand (For Quickness boons), Renegade (For Alacrity boons) and Warrior (For Banners) Other classes can support pretty well though, Elementalist Tempest can heal decently, Necromancer Scourge can assist with healing via Barriers

PvE-wise: Condition ranger without HoT is actually one of the top condition damage dealers according to this guide which was made for raiding but it's worth noting. Phalanx Strength Warriors builds are still appreciated in groups. However, their specialization from HoT does boosts their personal damage.
